Start with the known requirement
The company product list references isostatic graphite for several products including boats, nuts, pins and rods. When a specific material grade is already defined by the project, include the grade directly in the inquiry.
Do not assume every graphite grade is interchangeable
Different projects may place different requirements on the material. If density, purity, electrical, thermal or other properties are controlled by your specification, provide the applicable document rather than relying on a generic material description.
Define the documentation you need
If the project requires a material certificate, incoming record, test report or other document, state this before quotation. The supplier can then confirm what is available and what is included in the scope.
Connect material to the drawing
The material requirement should be linked to the correct item and drawing revision. This is particularly important when one assembly contains several graphite components.
Keep changes controlled
If the material requirement changes between prototype and repeat order, update the drawing or specification reference so the change is visible in the order record.
