Review the pin together with its mating part
A graphite pin may locate, fix or support another component. For that reason, the mating hole or slot, insertion direction and any stop surface should be part of the review.
Identify the functional dimensions
Diameter, overall length, shoulder location, groove width and end geometry may play different roles. Mark the dimensions that directly affect fit or positioning as critical rather than treating every dimension the same.
Be careful with worn samples
A worn or damaged pin can show the general shape but may not preserve the original dimension. Use the approved drawing or the mating component as an additional reference.
Quantity matters
If several pins are used in one assembly, state the pieces per set and the total quantity required. Similar sizes should be packed and labelled separately.
Material reference
The company product list includes isostatic graphite pins. The actual material grade and inspection requirement are confirmed for each project.
